I Am Your Mirror
“Who Am I?” you ask?
I am every female you’ve ever met: I am the lost child crying for her mother on the street corner, or the daughter getting ready to go out for her first date – wanting to go and yet having so many concerns all at the same time.
I am the student feverishly taking notes trying to get every piece of information you have to offer, regardless of the subject matter.
I am the flirt at the nightclub you may have visited last Friday night and the leading lady in your favorite Broadway/television show who seems to have it all together…then you remember it’s just an illusion.
I am the wife who is in search of the perfect relationship with her husband – always seeking to make it better and wondering what her friends would think if “they only knew”, or the mother who wants the best for her children and dreams of a better world for them while holding her breath when it’s time for the draft or concerned her daughter may be hurt by “the guy down the street”.
I am the coach who knows you can do it – and is just looking for a way to help you know it too.
I’m the divorcee who went through life with eyes wide shut to what was right there in front of her and the Former Marine who learned the meaning of self-discipline. I am the businesswoman who has experienced the value of clarity and intent in creating business’, and the partner who knows what it means to bring a united front to the world when you have questions in your own mind.
I am the teacher who has been blessed to learn much more than she’s ever taught, the seeker in search of a more honest platform – a higher truth – a more Godly state of existing, the dreamer who sees a gentler, kinder world for everyone.
I am the caregiver who understands what it means to grow weary and experience the guilt of with the passing days. I’m the speaker who feels the desire to share the joy, and possibilities, and the guide who desires to shed light on the stumbling blocks and pitfalls along the mountain trail so that others may experience even more of the beauty along the path as they journey to the top of the mountain. And I am the writer who knows the rules…and breaks them anyway!
In short…
…I am you.
I’ve traveled the road and I know the challenges and the joys.
We are forever bound in this life by our desire to be everything we can for ourselves as well as those around us.
The journey inward is not for the faint of heart and anyone who has started on that path understands that concept.
If you are a mother and/or a mate, you know what it means to multitask. There are the extra-curricular activities, the meals, life’s “little” challenges for the children that are bigger than life drama, the romance with your mate that so easily takes a back seat to all of the demands on your time…and so the list goes.
You have dreams and desires. You may be playing the role of superwoman.
You may be on the brink of insanity.
It’s ok.
You “ARE” and that’s the key to remember as you join in on the PATH of discovery.
